| 01/26/09 | | Welcome to all new and continuing members! The awards banquet was a great success. Thank you to all who organized and participated. Please pay your 2009 membership; newsletters will only be mailed to those whose memberships are paid. The membership costs will remain the same as last year: $35.00 for a family, $25.00 for an individual, and $10.00 for youth. However, because of the increased costs to GRC to produce cuttings, there will be an increase in the entry fee per class from $45.00 to $50.00. Your Board made a diligent effort to keep costs down. Although there are many arguments in support to raising the entry fee more we are confident that we will be able to have a successful year by only raising the cost by $5.00.
For 2009, the following rule changes will apply:
YOUTH: Contestants must be 18 years of age or younger on the first day of the applicable point year. The junior and senior youth will be combined. There will only be one set of awards for youth at year end.
YEAR END AWARDS: 1. In order to be eligible for year-end awards, you must volunteer during the show year for at least one-half a day. 2. You must participate in at least 50% of all shows. 3. Your lowest score will not be counted towards year end awards. If you have any concerns or complaints, please contact a Director or Officer. Do not complain directly to cattle providers or show producers.
The show calendar for 2009 is set. Please see the EVENTS tab for a complete listing of shows. For the February show please call your entries in to LaRae Taylor at 326-3126 or Penelope Parker at 734-9351 before 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009. We will be enforcing the late entry rules as set forth in our newsletter last spring.
The next board meeting is scheduled for the first Monday in February at Jakers in Twin Falls at 7:00 p.m. |
| 03/02/09 | | The first show of the season held February 21st and 22nd 2009, was a huge success with 175 works over two days! For those of you who were able to attend we appreciate your participation; for those who were not, we hope you will be able to participate in the next scheduled cutting March 14th and 15th. This show, the second in our series will again be held at the Arrow E. Arena beginning at 8:30 each morning. We will continue the same schedule of classes as the last show.
